Make your design come true
Fused Deposition Modeling is the most popular form of 3D printing among consumers. FDM works with the extrusion of thermoplastics such as ABS and PLA using a heated nozzle that melts the material and deposits it, layer by layer, on a build platform. The layers are deposited one at a time, until the part is completed.
These types of 3D printers are particularly suitable for basic Proof-of-Concept models, as well as for rapid, low-cost prototyping of simple parts. Up to small productions of particular, personalized, detailed objects. The materials used by Kanèsis are 100% biobased considering that the dyes and other additives also come from waste.
3D resin printing
Stereolithography, invented in the 1980s, was the first 3D printing technology in the world and is still one of the most widely used technologies at a professional level. Stereolithography uses a laser to polymerize the liquid resin by transforming it into hardened plastic; this process is called photopolymerization.
SLA 3D printers have become very popular due to their ability to make high-precision, isotropic and waterproof parts and prototypes with fine detail and a smooth surface finish. The stereolithography resin formulation offers a wide range of optical, mechanical and thermal properties that mimic those of industrial, standard and engineering thermoplastics. However, Kanèsis only uses 100% Biobased resins, transparent or loaded with agricultural waste which give a characteristic natural finish.
Stereolithography is a great choice for detailed prototypes that require tight tolerances and smooth surfaces, such as molds, models and functional parts. It is used extensively in a variety of industries, from engineering to product design, manufacturing, dentistry, jewelry, model making and education.
